The Implementation in 5 Steps

The chart shows the most important steps for using the toolkit in SMEs and large organizations. During implementation, several actions may overlap, or individual steps may be skipped. Often this process is repeated several times.

1. Define Goals 2. Determine Current State 3. Develop Action Plan 4. Apply the Tools 5. Measure Success Overview 1. Define Goals 2. Determine Current State 3. Develop Action Plan 4. Apply the Tools 5. Measure Success Overview

5. Measure Success

During or after implementation, keep track of the success factors defined in the action plan and compare the actual status to your objectives. Aside from quantitative results such as workforce diversity, performance, or sales figures, “soft” indicators such as perceived diversity and inclusion in the innovation field can also be monitored and compared. Record which unexpected challenges emerged during the implementation of a tool and which solutions worked to solve the problem. In this context, especially the feedback of employees involved in the implementation and directly affected by the measures is valuable and important. These experiences help to modify and advance the process for subsequent development cycles.
