1. Define Goals

First, identify the goals you want to achieve using the Toolkit: Women & Diversity in Innovation. Are you mainly interested in increasing the diversity within the innovation workforce, optimizing the use of diversity for innovation, or both? And what benefits do you expect from these measures? We recommend that you specify your short-, medium- and long-term goals in a “SMART” way, i.e., in a specific, measurable, activating, realistic, and time-bound manner. Further, your diversity and innovation goals should correspond to the strategies and mission statements of your organization. You should also determine the resources allocated (timeframe, infrastructure, and financial resources) for the development process.
